Reviste La Calle 3

Hola a todos, ¿cómo están? Espero que estén disfrutando las últimas horas de este primer domingo de Junio. Para entretenerlos en esta relajada tarde de domingo quisiera compartir con ustedes una ilustración que realicé para la sección de Datos de la revista de moda y tendencias Reviste La Calle, publicada por el sitio web Viste La Calle. También diseñé el layout de las páginas, utilizando una tipografía rellena con glitter dorado (¡me encanta todo lo brillante!). Las ilustraciones están pintadas con acuarela y tienen algunos detalles con glitter dorado que colorié de manera digital. El encaje de las panties de la modelo de la izquierda lo realicé con un pincel de flores en Photoshop.
La tenida de la derecha corresponde a la colección Otoño/Inviverno 2012-2013 de Jill Stuart, y la de la izquierda fue diseñada por mi, a excepción de los zapatos que son Aldo (los pueden encontrar en Asos.com).


Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you are enjoying the last hours of this first June's Sunday. To amuse you during this relaxed Sunday afternoon I would like to share with you an illustration I made for the Tips section of Reviste La Calle magazine of fashion and trends, published by Viste La Calle. I also made the layout of the pages, using a typography filled with golden glitter (I love shinny stuff!). Illustrations are colored with watercolors and have some details in golden glitter. I made the lace tights of the left model with a flower Photoshop Brush.
The outfit on the right belongs to the Fall/Winter 2012-2013 collection by Jill Stuart, and the left one was designed by me, with the exception of the shoes which are Aldo (you can find them in Asos.com).

Tengo el placer de compartir con ustedes el artículo publicado en Bc Magazine sobre el 3er Concurso de Diseño de Vestuario en el cual obtuve el 1er lugar.
La vorágine que significó participar en este maravilloso certamen se resume en las siguientes etapas: primero tuve que crear bocetos para 5 tenidas inspiradas en el concepto "24 horas fashion" para las instancias de fin de semana familiar, día ejecutivo, happy hour con las amigas, cóctel ejecutivo y alta noche (ver ilustraciones).  Luego pasé a la siguiente etapa que consistió en confeccionar estas tenidas para así presentarlas en un desfile donde participamos tres finalistas y además se realizó la premiación del concurso (ver fotos del desfile). Una vez que fui seleccionada ganadora me contactaron para realizar una editorial de moda con los diseños presentados al concurso, la cual se realizó en las hermosas terrazas y el elegante bar del Hotel Noi, junto con un equipo de profesionales expertos en moda que se encargaron de la fotografía, maquillaje y peinado. Si hacen click en las imágenes de arriba (están en alta resolución) podrán ver las fotografías y leer una entrevista sobre mis inicios en el diseño de vestuario y lo que significó para mi participar en este concurso.
Vivir esta experiencia fue algo realmente maravilloso, tener la oportunidad de participar en un desfile y luego realizar una editorial de moda con mis propios diseños y que fuese publicada en una revista, es algo que no había imaginado que ocurriría tan pronto. Espero que este sea el punto de partida de muchos proyectos y creaciones que se vendrán a futuro y que tengan una buena acogida por parte de ustedes, mis lectores y amigos.
Quisiera agradecer a todos los que hicieron posible este evento: a Bc Magazine por la iniciativa de darle un espacio a los diseñadores emergentes y de darme a mi la oportunidad de publicar mi trabajo en su prestigiosa revista; a mi familia y amigos, por apoyarme y acompañarme durante todo el proceso del concurso.


It's my pleasure to share with you the article published in Bc Magazine about the 3rd Fashion Design Contest in which I was awarded the 1st place. The maelstrom that meant participating in this wonderful event can be summarized in the following stages: first I had to create sketches for 5 outfits based on the concept of "24 hours fashion" for the instances of weekend with the family, office, happy hour with friends, cocktail and night (see illustrations). Then I stepped into the next stage that consisted in making these outfits in order to present them in a fashion show where I participated together with three finalists (see pictures of the fashion show). Once I was selected the winner the magazine contacted me to make a photo shoot with the designs I submitted to the contest, which was held on the beautiful terraces and the stylish bar of Noi Hotel, together with a team of fashion experts who were responsible of the photography, makeup and hairstyle. If you click on the images above (they are in high resolution) you can see the photos and read an interview about my beginnings in fashion design and what it meant for me to participate in this contest.
This experience was truly wonderful, to have the opportunity of participating in a fashion show and then to have photo shoot with my own designs that was published in a magazine is something I had not imagined it would happen so soon. I hope this is the starting point of many projects and creations that will come in the future and I hope they will have a good reception from you, my readers and friends.
I would like to thank everyone who made this event possible: to Bc Magazine for the initiative of providing a difusion platform for emerging designers and giving me the opportunity to publish my work in their prestigious magazine; to my family and friends for supporting me through the whole competition process.

Cabralesa

¡Hola a todos! Les cuento que uno de mis diseños de vestuario apareció en el último capítulo del webcomic Cabralesa. Esta tenida es parte de la colección que diseñé para el 3er Concurso de Diseño de Vestuario Bc Magazine en el cual fui premiada con el 1er lugar. Estoy muy contenta porque las ilustraciones de Cabralesa están preciosas y pienso que Noelia es una excelente modelo para mi tenida.
Los invito a leer el webcomic, ¡está demasiado entretenido! Yo tengo una versión impresa de la historia (fue uno de los premios que gané en el Concurso de Diseño) así que voy a poder disfrutar de este comic durante las vacaciones.


Hello everyone! I'm happy to announce that one of my outfits appears in the last chapter of the webcomic Cabralesa. This look is part of the fashion collection I designed for the 3rd Fashion Design Contest By Bc Magazine in which I was awarded with the 1st place. I'm so happy cause the illustrations of Cabralesa are really cute and I think that Noelia is the perfect model for my outfit.
I invite you to check out the webcomic, it's really cool! I have a printed version of the comic (it was one of the prizes I received in the Fashion Design Contest) so I will be able to enjoy this book during the holidays.

Reviste La Calle

Les cuento con mucha alegría que tuve la fortuna de ser publicada en la segunda edición de la revista del blog de moda y tendencias Viste La Calle. En la sección de Talentos Emergentes aparecen unas ilustraciones mias junto con una pequeña reseña sobre mi trabajo (si hacen click en la primera imagen podrán leerla). 

Para celebrar en lanzamiento de Reviste La Calle me invitaron a una fiesta donde también tuve la oportunidad de colgar mi ilustración Now Mary.

Si les interesa, leí en el sitio web de Viste La Calle que están regalando 100 ejemplares de la revista, así que no duden en participar.

I'm so happy to tell you that I was lucky to be published in the second edition of the magazine by the fashion and trends blog Viste La Calle. On the Emerging Talents section you can see some of my illustrations along with a review of my work (click on the first image to read it in spanish).

To celebrate launch of Reviste La Calle I was invited to a party where I also had the opportunity to hang my illustration Now Mary.

In case you are interested, I read on Viste La Calle website that they are giving away 100 copies of the magazine, so do not hesitate to participate.

Hola a todos, ¡les tengo una muy buena noticia! Quedé muy sorprendida al saber que fui una de las ganadoras del concurso Princess Prep Fashion organizado por mi ilustrador favorito: J. David McKenney. El desafío consistía en diseñar un vestido para uno de los personajes de su novela gráfica Club Princess Prep y una historia corta sobre el contexto en el cual se usaría.

Hello everyone, I've got good news! I was surprised to know that I was one of the winners of the Princess Prep Fashion Contest, organized by my favorite illustrator: J. David McKenney. The challenge consisted in designing an outfit for one of the characters of his graphic novel Club Princess Prep together with a short story which explained the context in which it was supposed to be used.

Crystal Girl en SuivantShoes.com

La marca de calzado chileno Suivant ya ha publicado en su página web la nueva colección Primavera/Verano 2011. En el lookbook se puede observar la ilustración "Crystal Girl" que hice para la sesión de fotografía. Me gustó mucho el resultado final, creo que mi ilustración combina perfectamente con los zapatos y el estilo de la foto.
Suivant son dos diseñadoras chilenas, Mariabelen Reinoso y Katty Letelier, ambas con experiencia en el diseño y producción de calzado. Los diseños de su colección de lanzamiento son románticos y vanguardistas, con delicadas aplicaciones metálicas, cintas, y lo más importante, son 100% cuero. Junto con esta línea las diseñadoras proponen accesorios de cuero con aplicaciones metálicas, entre los que se cuentas  pulseras muy estilosas y carteras que como ellas señalan, son "para toda ocasión": súper prácticas y cómodas.
Personalmente me encanta el proyecto, no sólo porque los diseños son de todo mi gusto, sino porque me encanta que en Chile se hagan buenas propuestas de diseño de moda. ¡Kudos para Suivant!


The chilean footwear brand Suivant has published in its webpage the new Spring/Summer 2011 collection. In its lookbook you can see my illustration "Crystal Girl", the one I made for the photo shoot. I really liked the final result, I think that my artwork matchs perfectly with the shoes and the style of the picture.
Suivant are two chilean designers Mariabelen Reinoso and Katty Letelier, both with experience in the design and production of footwear. The designs of their first collection are romantic and avant-garde, with delicate metallic appliqués, ribbons, and more important, they are 100% leather. Along with this line the designers propose leather accessories with metallic appliqués, among them we can mention ver stylish bracelets and purses, that as they say, are "for all occasions", super practical and comfortable.
Personally I love this project, not only cause I really like the designs, but cause I love that good design proposal are made in Chile. Kudos for Suivant!
