These illustrations are based on a dress by Giambattista Valli of the Haute Couture, Fall/Winter 2011-2012 collection . I loved the collection of this Italian designer which I didn't know previously, especially the use of volumes created from tiny pleats and small pieces of fabric that created sophisticated textures.
I decided to draw this dress because I loved the color, the way the pleats of the upper part of the outfit contrasted with the volume of the lower part, and the way these thin pleats adhered to the silhouette, drawing the outline of the chest.
Hi there!
ResponderEliminarI can see that the dancer you drew is very thin. It reminds me of Natalie Portman in Black Swan. But dancers are usually quite slim. I really love what you did, the woman you drew is full of grace and her look and the way she stands are quite intense.
Muchos besos!
Lucinda
hello lucindaa! Yeah is thin, but i generally draw thin girls when im doing fashion illustration, cause the models are thin. Actually I gave that name to this serie cause the dress somehow reminded me of a flamenco dress.
ResponderEliminarOhh Natalie Portman was so thin in Black Swan, creepy! But the other day I saw a movie that impressed me even more...The Machinist! Christian Bale had to loose like 30 kg for that film!
Bisous!
