La semana pasada tuve la oportunidad de experimentar con la tableta Bamboo de una amiga y me gustó mucho lo que se puede lograr con el trazo. Esta no es la primera vez que uso una: años atrás tenía una tableta Genius pequeña con la que principalmente coloreaba ilustraciones que había dibujado previamente a mano. Ahora quise probar dibujar directamente con la tableta, y al comienzo me resultó complicado, sobretodo por el hecho de no poder ver directamente lo que estaba dibujando.
Lo que más me gusta de la ilustración digital es la gama de colores saturados que se pueden obtener y que son imposibles de conseguir con pigmentos. Lo otro que me encanta es poder hacer Ctrl-Z, ¡que herramienta más maravillosa! Uno se siente casi como un dios, pudiendo hacer y deshacer a su antojo.
Los aros de esta ilustración están inspirados en unos que usó Serena van der Woodsen de Gossip Girl en un capítulo que fracamente no puedo recordar cuál fue. Me fascina el estilo de Blake Lively en esta serie, aunque el personaje está en total decadencia. De todas maneras espero pronto poder sorprenderlos con un retrato de esta hermosa actriz.

Last week I had the opportunity of experimenting with a friend's Bamboo tablet and I loved what can be accomplished with the stroke. This is not the first time that I use one of these: some years ago I used to have a small Genius tablet with which I mainly colored illustrations that I had previously hand-drew. In this opportunity I wanted to try drawing directly with the tablet and at the beginning it was quite complicated, mainly for the reason that I couldn't see directly what I was drawing.
I what I love the most about digital illustration is the huge range of colors that are available and that are impossible to obtain with pigments. The other thing that I love is to be capable to do Ctrl-Z, what a wonderful tool! One feels almost like a god, being able to do and undo.
Th earrings of this illustration are inspired by ones worn by Serena van der Woodsen of Gossip Girl in a Chapter that I can't remember its name. I love Blake's Lively style in this series, although the character is in total decline. Anyway, I expect to be able to surprise you soon with a portrait of this beautiful actress.

Finalmente tengo el placer de mostrarles la colección que me llevó tantos días (y tantas noches) confeccionar. Estos fueron los diseños que presenté el pasado 10 de Enero para el 3er Concurso de Diseño de Vestuario Bc Magazine, en la cual tuve el honor de obtener el primer lugar. El evento se llevó a cabo en el centro de eventos Seminarium, ubicado en Borde Río, y contó con la presencia del destacado diseñador chileno, José Cardoch, como parte del jurado.
La competencia estuvo muy reñida, ya que las propuestas de todos los concursantes fueron de muy alto nivel. Quedé admirada por el trabajo de los diseñadores Bernardo Santander (2o lugar) y Eduardo Cerda (3er lugar), este último quien además es un talentoso ilustrador de moda. Me pareció que las colecciones de los diseñadores fueron consistentes con el concepto "24 horas fashion", llevando siempre el estilo personal de cada creador. Los invito a conocer las colecciones de Bernardo y Eduardo, además de otras imágenes del el evento en la página Bc Sociales.

I finally have the pleasure to show you the collection that took me so many days (and so many nights) so make. These are the proposals that I presented last January 10th for the 3rd Fashion Design Contest by Bc Magazine, in which I had the honor of obtaining the 1st place. The event took place in Seminarium, an event place located in Borde Río (Santiago), and counted with the presence of the renowned chilean fashion designer José Cardoch, as part of the jury.
The competition was very tight, since the proposals of all the competitors were of very high standar. I was amazed by the work of Bernardo Santander (2nd place) and Eduardo Cerda (3rd place), also the last one a very talented fashion illustrator. I think that the collections of the designers were consistent with the "24 hours fashion" concept, always with the personal style of each creator. ¡Hola a todos! Les cuento que uno de mis diseños de vestuario apareció en el último capítulo del webcomic Cabralesa. Esta tenida es parte de la colección que diseñé para el 3er Concurso de Diseño de Vestuario Bc Magazine en el cual fui premiada con el 1er lugar. Estoy muy contenta porque las ilustraciones de Cabralesa están preciosas y pienso que Noelia es una excelente modelo para mi tenida.
Los invito a leer el webcomic, ¡está demasiado entretenido! Yo tengo una versión impresa de la historia (fue uno de los premios que gané en el Concurso de Diseño) así que voy a poder disfrutar de este comic durante las vacaciones.

Hello everyone! I'm happy to announce that one of my outfits appears in the last chapter of the webcomic Cabralesa. This look is part of the fashion collection I designed for the 3rd Fashion Design Contest By Bc Magazine in which I was awarded with the 1st place. I'm so happy cause the illustrations of Cabralesa are really cute and I think that Noelia is the perfect model for my outfit.
I invite you to check out the webcomic, it's really cool! I have a printed version of the comic (it was one of the prizes I received in the Fashion Design Contest) so I will be able to enjoy this book during the holidays.

3er Concurso de Diseño de Vestuario BC Magazine

¡Hola a todos! Hace tiempo que no escribo en el blog porque he estado muy ocupada estas últimas semanas.
En Diciembre de 2011 me presenté al 3er Concurso de Diseño de Vestuario BC Magazine con los diseños que pueden ver arriba. El desafío consistía en crear 5 tenidas inspiradas en el concepto 24 Horas Fashion: fin de semana familiar, día ejecutivo, cóctel ejecutivo, happy hour con amigas y alta noche (las ilustraciones están en ese orden). Después de unas semanas me enteré con mucha alegría que había sido seleccionada como finalista, por lo que tenía que confeccionar mis diseños para un desfile en el cual participarían los tres finalistas. Tuve que planificar mi tiempo para poder realizar todas las actividades que tenía por delante: comprar las telas, hacer los moldes, cortar, coser, etc.
Finalmente y después de un arduo trabajo, ayer me presenté a la ceremonia de premiación en la cual cinco modelos desfilaron mis diseños. ¡Fue muy emocionante ver como mis ilustraciones se habían convertido en vestidos! Las modelos se veían guapísimas y los diseños se lucieron en todo su esplendor. Pero lo más emocionante de la noche fue cuando anunciaron, para mi total sorpresa, que yo había sido la ganadora del primer lugar de concurso. Entre los premios cuentan una producción de moda que será publicada en Bc Magazine, además de una máquina de coser Singer y un cambio de look en Viez.
Por el momento no tengo las fotografías del desfile, pero les dejo algunas imágenes que fui sacando durante el proceso de confección de las prendas.

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I write in the blog cause I've been very busy these last weeks.
On December 2011 I submitted the designs you can see above to the 3rd Fashion Design Contest by BC Magazine. The challenge consisted of creating 5 outfits inspired in the 24 Hours Fashion concept: weekend with the family, office, cocktail, happy hour with friends and night (the illustrations are in that order). After some weeks I was so excited to hear that I was selected as one of the finalists, so I had to make my designs for a fashion show in wich would participate the three finalists of the contest. I had to organize my time to realize all the upcoming activities: buying the fabrics, make the patterns, cut, sew, etc.
Finally, and after a hard work, yesterday was the Awards Ceremony in which 5 models showed my designs. It was so exciting to see how my illustrations became into real dresses! The models looked so gorgeous and the dresses were sparkling. But the most exciting thing of the evening was when they announced that I was the winner of the 1st place. Among the prizes there is a fashion production that will be published in Bc Magazine, plus a Singer sewing machine and a change of look for myself in Viez.
For the moment I dont have pictures of the Fashion Show, but I can share with you some pics I took of the making of.

Esta tarde estuve experimentando con pintura digital en Photoshop y este fue el resultado. Me gustaron mucho las texturas que se pueden lograr con los distintos pinceles, además de los colores saturados y brillantes. Por otra parte, es genial poder hacer Ctrl-Z cuando uno se equivoca o se arrepiente de algo. El problema es cuando estoy pintando con acuarela, porque siento unos deseos enormes de deshacer una acción pero es imposible. También en la vida real a veces deseo hacer Ctrl-Z... ¿ustedes no sienten lo mismo? Veredicto: Photoshop genera una mal hábito.

This afternoon I was experimenting with digital painting in Photoshop and here is the result. I like the textures that I get with the different brushes, together with the saturated and bright colors. On the other hand, it is great to be able to do Ctrl-Z whenever I make a mistake or regret about something. The problem is when I'm painting with watercolor, because I feel an enormous desire to undo an action but it's impossible. Also in real life sometimes I wish to do Ctrl-Z... don't you feel the same? Verdict: Photoshop creates a bad habit.

Reviste La Calle

Les cuento con mucha alegría que tuve la fortuna de ser publicada en la segunda edición de la revista del blog de moda y tendencias Viste La Calle. En la sección de Talentos Emergentes aparecen unas ilustraciones mias junto con una pequeña reseña sobre mi trabajo (si hacen click en la primera imagen podrán leerla).

Para celebrar en lanzamiento de Reviste La Calle me invitaron a una fiesta donde también tuve la oportunidad de colgar mi ilustración Now Mary.

I'm so happy to tell you that I was lucky to be published in the second edition of the magazine by the fashion and trends blog Viste La Calle. On the Emerging Talents section you can see some of my illustrations along with a review of my work (click on the first image to read it in spanish).

Blue Veins

Para este retrato me inspiré en una fotografía que encontré en Tumblr de una modelo, pero todavía no sé de quién se trata. Ahora que veo el retrato terminado, encuentro que se parece a Anne Hathaway, ¿no creen? La expresión de la modelo me recordó a una canción de Regina Spektor llamada "Blue lips", y por eso decidí pintarla en tonos azules, pero dejando los labios rojos como en la fotografía original. A pesar de que la canción se llama "Blue lips" y mi modelo tiene "Red lips", siento que hay algo frío y rígido en ellos.
Espero que disfruten de la canción de R. Spektor. A lo mejor escuchándola se pueden sumergir en el ánimo en el que estaba mientras pintaba esta ilustración.

For this portrait was inspired by a model's photograph I found on Tumblr, but still do not know who she is. Now that I see the finished portrait, I find her quite similar to Anne Hathaway, don't you agree? The model's expression reminded me of Regina Spektor's song, "Blue lips", so I decided to paint in blue, but leaving the lips in red as in the original picture. Although the song is called "Blue lips" and my model has "Red lips", I feel that there is something cold and rigid on them.
I hope you'll enjoy the song of R. Spektor. Maybe listening to it you can be immersed in the mood in which I was while I was painting this illustration.

La canción I Want Candy de los Bow Wow Wow fue la que me inspiró a realizar esta ilustración mega-dulce y rosada. La primera vez que la escuché fue en la película de Sofia Coppola "Marie-Antoinette" y quedé fascinada con su ritmo y letra. Decidí investigar un poco más sobre la canción y así me enteré que la versión de los Bow Wow Wow era un cover, y que además de ellos había un sin fin de bandas famosas que la habían "covereado": Melanie C (para la película "I Want Candy"), Aaron Carter, Good Charlotte, Billie, entre otros. Pero puedo decirles que la versión orginal es lejos una de las mejores, junto con la de los Bow Wow Wow, y que la de Melanie C es realmente una de las peores (fue toda una decepción ya que yo era muy fanática de las Spice Girls cuando chica).

I Want Candy was the Bow Wow Wow's song that inspired me to make this pink-sweet illustration. First time I heard it was in Sofia Coppola's Marie-Antoinette and I was totally fascinated with its rhythm and lyrics. I decided to do some research and I found out that the Bow Wow Wow's version was a cover, and that, besides them, there was an endless list of famous bands that covered the song: Melanie C (for the film "I Want Candy"), Aaron Carter, Good Charlotte, Billie, among others. But I can tell you that the original version is by far one of the best, along with the Bow Wow Wow's one, and that Melanie C's version is one of the worst (it was quite a disappointment since I used to be a Spice Girls' fan when I was a teenager).

Sasha Pivovarova

Este es un retrato de la modelo rusa Sasha Pivovarova, conocida por haber modelado para Prada por 6 temporadas consecutivas* y por haber sido el rostro de la campaña de H&M para la colección Otoño 2011.
Lo que me llama la atención de Sasha es su capacidad de pasar a ser de una chica muy sexy, juvenil y despreocupada, a una muy dulce, elegante y delicada. Esta última faceta es la que quise plasmar en mi ilustración, inspirándome en una fotografía de la modelo tomada por Steven Meisel.

This is a portrait of the russian model Sasha Pivovarova, best known for her consecutive 6-season run with Prada* and for being the face of H&M's Autumn 2011 collection.
What draws my attention about Sasha is her ability to transform from a very sexy, youthful and carefree girl, to a sweet, elegant and delicate one. This last aspect is the one I wanted to capture in my artwork, finding inspiration in a photography of the model taken by Steven Meisel.

Una tarde de verano estaba viendo la película Deseo, peligro (¡recomendada!) y quedé fascinada con la canción The Wandering Songstress interpretada por la protagonista a su amado en una escena realmente conmovedora. Decidí buscar la canción por internet y entre las versiones con las que me encontré estuvo la de la banda Shangai Triad. Fue así como conocí a Shien Lee, la vocalista del conjunto, que resultó que además de cantante era modelo y organizadora de eventos. Quedé fascinada con todas estas fotos de Shien Lee vestida con trajes vitorianos, y más aún cuando la vi en la pasarela de la diseñadora española Elisa Palomino.

One summer afternoon I was watching the movie Lust, caution (recommended!) and I was fascinated with the song The Wandering Songstress interpreted by the protagonist to her beloved in a touching scene. I decided to look for the song on internet and among the different versions I found one of the band Shangai Triad. That's how I came to know Shien Lee, the vocalist of the band, that for my surprise was also a model and event designer. I was fascinated with Shien's pictures, all dressed up with victorian dresses, and even more when I saw her in the runway of the spanish designer Elisa Palomino.

Esta ilustración está inspirada en un conjunto de la colección Primavera/Verano 2012 de Nina Ricci. Me encantaron todas las piezas de esta colección: femeninas, delicadas y elegantes. El toque final lo daban esos pequeños gorritos que coronaban a las modelos, que me recordaron a las típicas rejas de madera pintadas de blanco y a los arcos que decoran los jardines de rosas.

This illustration is inspired in a Spring/Summer 2012 outfit of Nina Ricci. I loved all the dresses of this collection: feminine, delicate and elegant. The final detail was given by those little caged hats that crowned the models, that reminded me of the typical white wooden fences and the arches that decorate the rose gardens.

Hello everyone, I've got good news! I was surprised to know that I was one of the winners of the Princess Prep Fashion Contest, organized by my favorite illustrator: J. David McKenney. The challenge consisted in designing an outfit for one of the characters of his graphic novel Club Princess Prep together with a short story which explained the context in which it was supposed to be used.

Modigliani Nº10

¡Terminé en cuadro nº10! Así que puedo decir oficialmente que sólo me faltan 10 cuadros.
Pintar con acrílicos ha sido todo un proceso de aprendizaje, de como funcionan los colores, como se mezclan, el tiempo de secado, etc. Ha sido algo muy positivo.
Este cuadro me gustó mucho porque la modelo es como una chica alternativa, toda vestida de negro y con un peinado vintage (que evidentemente en esa época no era vintage). Además el color de fondo me encantó (soy fanática del verde esmeralda). Espero que a ustedes también les haya gustado mi cuadro.

Painting with acrylics has been a complete learning process, of the way colors work, how they get mixed, their drying time, etc. It has been a very positive experience.
I totally liked this portrait mainly cause the model is so alternative, totally dressed in black and with a vintage hairstyle (that obviously wan't vintage at that time). Besides, I love the background color (I'm obsessed with the emerald green). I hope you've also liked my painting.

Maui Girl

Esta ilustración fue mi propuesta para un concurso organizado por Maui, que consistía en crear una "cabeza" para decorar los maniquíes de las tiendas. El personaje que me imaginé fue una chica playera, surfista y fashion, por eso la dibujé rubia y con lentes de sol tipo Ray-Ban (que no quedaron iguales a los originales pero igual se ven entretenidos).

This was my entry for a contest organized by Maui, that consisted in designing a "head" to decorate the shop's mannequins. I imagined a very chic surfer girl who loves the beach, so I drawn her blonde and with Ray-Ban sunglasses (they don't resemble too much to the original ones but they still look nice).

Este hermoso traje de baño es de la empresa de retail estadounidense J.Crew, y está tan barato que estoy muy tentada de comprarlo. El problema es que no estoy segura si la talla 14 me quedará... voy a tener que tomar mis medidas para comprobarlo. No conozco mucho esas medidas en pulgadas. Mi color favorito es el rich peacock (el que sale en mi ilustración), pero también está en otros colores muy bonitos como el navy y el sweet orange.

This gorgeous tank is from the american retail company J.Crew, and is so cheap that I'm very tempted to buy it. The problem is that I'm not sure if size 14 will fit me... I will have to measure myself to check it out. I don't know these american sizes. Mi favorite color is rich peacock (the one I illustrated), but is also available in other pretty colors like navy and sweet orange.

La marca de calzado chileno Suivant ya ha publicado en su página web la nueva colección Primavera/Verano 2011. En el lookbook se puede observar la ilustración "Crystal Girl" que hice para la sesión de fotografía. Me gustó mucho el resultado final, creo que mi ilustración combina perfectamente con los zapatos y el estilo de la foto.
Suivant son dos diseñadoras chilenas, Mariabelen Reinoso y Katty Letelier, ambas con experiencia en el diseño y producción de calzado. Los diseños de su colección de lanzamiento son románticos y vanguardistas, con delicadas aplicaciones metálicas, cintas, y lo más importante, son 100% cuero. Junto con esta línea las diseñadoras proponen accesorios de cuero con aplicaciones metálicas, entre los que se cuentas pulseras muy estilosas y carteras que como ellas señalan, son "para toda ocasión": súper prácticas y cómodas.
Personalmente me encanta el proyecto, no sólo porque los diseños son de todo mi gusto, sino porque me encanta que en Chile se hagan buenas propuestas de diseño de moda. ¡Kudos para Suivant!

The chilean footwear brand Suivant has published in its webpage the new Spring/Summer 2011 collection. In its lookbook you can see my illustration "Crystal Girl", the one I made for the photo shoot. I really liked the final result, I think that my artwork matchs perfectly with the shoes and the style of the picture.
Suivant are two chilean designers Mariabelen Reinoso and Katty Letelier, both with experience in the design and production of footwear. The designs of their first collection are romantic and avant-garde, with delicate metallic appliqués, ribbons, and more important, they are 100% leather. Along with this line the designers propose leather accessories with metallic appliqués, among them we can mention ver stylish bracelets and purses, that as they say, are "for all occasions", super practical and comfortable.
Personally I love this project, not only cause I really like the designs, but cause I love that good design proposal are made in Chile. Kudos for Suivant!

Este maravilloso traje de baño lo encontré en la página web de Marc Jacobs. Me encantó el detalle del lazo en la cintura, que si uno gusta se lo puede sacar. ¿Ustedes que prefieren usar: traje de baño o bikini? Si bien los bikini son los más populares, últimamente las propuestas de trajes de baño abundan. Como prenda a mi me parecen más interesante la maillot, porque se puede jugar más con la forma, los cortes, los estampados y colores (el área de intervención es mayor).

I found this marvelous swimming suit in the Marc Jacobs web page. I simply loved the removable ribbon in the waist! What you prefer to wear, a maillot or a bikini? Although bikini are more popular, lately there are many maillot designs. I think that as garment the maillot is more interesting, cause is posible to make more proposals regarding the shape, the prints and the colors (the intervention area is bigger).

Summertime

¡Por fin ha llegado la primavera! La verdad es que ya estaba harta del frío y de la ropa abrigada. Los árboles se ven preciosos llenos de flores, especialmente los ciruelos en flor. En esta línea, quería seguir con mis ilustraciones de trajes de baño. Este bikini lo encontré en la página web de Marc Jacobs y me gustó mucho por los colores y el detalle de un trozo color beige en una esquina del diseño.
Aproveché de actualizar el estilo de mi blog y ponerlo más veraniego. Espero que les guste la nueva cabecera y la combinación de colores que escogí (fucsia, calipso, blanco y amarillo).

At last spring has arrived! Truly speaking I was tired of the cold weather and the winter clothes. Trees look so pretty full of flowers, specially the plum blossom trees. Following this style, I wanted to continue my swimming wear illustrations. I found this bikini in Marc Jacobs' web and I liked its colors and the detail of a small beige shape at the edge of the design.
I took this opportunity to refresh my blog and give it a summer look. I hope you'll like the new header and the color combination I chose (fuchsia, cyan, white and yellow).

Modigliani Nº8

Este es el noveno retrato de Modigliani que termino. Me encantó la suavidad del verde del fondo de la pintura original y traté de emularla lo mejor posible. El formato original de este cuadro era vertical por lo que tuve que reducirlo para que se ajustara al formato cuadrado. En eso se perdió la redondez de la barriga de la mujer... ¿estaría embarazada?

This is the ninth Modigliani portrait that I finish. I loved the softness of the green background of the original painting and I tried to copy it the best I could. The original format was vertical so I had to reduce it to fit into the square format. In this process I lost the roundness of the women's belly... maybe she was pregnant?

Hoy terminé el cuadro Nº7 de Modigliani, mientras escuchaba "Esta canción" de Silvio Rodríguez. La melancolía de la canción combinaba perfectamente con la tristeza que veo en este cuadro. Y la tristeza que veo en todos los cuadros de Modigliani. ¿Sería que el pintor estaba muy apenado? A mi me dio esa impresión en la película que trata sobre su vida, con Andy García en el rol de Modigliani.

Today I finished painting Nº7, while I was listening "Esta canción" from Silvio Rodríguez. The melancholy of the song matched perfeclty with the sadness that I see in this painting. And the sadness I see in all Modigliani's paintings. Is it possible that the artist was very sad? I got that impression in the movie about his life, with Andy Garcia in the role of Modigliani.

¡He retomado mis pinturas de Modigliani! Acabo de terminar el cuadro nº6, uno de mis favoritos, principalmente por la gama de colores (me encanta el color rojo... ¿se nota?). A diferencia de otros cuadros, este tenía muchos detalles en el rostro por lo que se convirtió en todo un desafío. Hay que recordar que las telas son de 30 x 30 cm, y además yo estoy acostumbrada a dibujar con lápiz, lo que me permite dibujar con mucha precisión, algo que me cuesta mucho lograr con el pincel y el acrílico (es muy espeso). Los cuadros que se vienen están llenos de detalles, así que queda una ardua tarea por delante.

I resumed my paintings of Modigliani! I just finished the portrait No. 6, one of my favorites, mainly because the colors (I love red ... did you notice?). Unlike other paintings, this one had many details in the face so it became a real challenge. Remember that the canvas are 30 x 30 cm, and besides, I'm used to drawing with pencil, with which I can draw very accurately, something that I find hard to achieve with brush and acrylic (this one is very dense). Por casualidad me encontré con un artículo sobre la polémica que se armó hace un par de meses por la aparición de una modelo de aspecto anoréxico promocionando la última campaña de Topshop.
Esta modelo era una australiana de 18 años llamada Codie Young que se había vuelto famosa en muy poco tiempo, consiguiendo salir en la portada de la Vogue Australia sin siquiera haber desfilado anteriormente. Así llegaría a los oídos de la renombrada marca inglesa Topshop, quien utilizaría a Codie como imagen de su campaña publicitaria mostrándola en las fotografías como una chica extremadamente delgada. Los medios de comunicación ingleses saltaron rápidamente criticando a Topshop por proponer como modelo de belleza a esta delgadísima chica, alegando que ese estereotipo fomentaba los desórdenes alimenticios en las jóvenes seguidoras de esta marca. Por otra parte Codie Young se defendió en su blog, argumentando que ella era delgada por naturaleza por lo que se sentía sumamente ofendida de que la catalogasen de anoréxica siendo que ella no lo era.
Personalmente creo que las opiniones de ambas partes son válidas, pero el problema es que si bien puede Codie sea delgada por naturaleza, un gran porcentaje de las jóvenes no lo son. Por esto se pueden ver motivadas a pensar que la figura de la joven modelo es la ideal y así hacer todo lo posible para conseguirla. Creo que el tema de los desórdenes alimenticios es muy fuerte en la actualidad y es algo que vivimos a diario ya que estamos invadidos de publicidad contradictoria: por una parte tenemos modelos delgadísimas y por otra, comida chatarra altamente calórica. Entonces frente a esta disyuntiva, ¿cuál es el camino a seguir? Pareciese que la bulimia es la respuesta a esta interrogante, porque ofrece la opción de comer todas esas golosinas pero sin hacerte responsable posteriormente de lo que comiste.
Pienso que es un tema muy delicado y que los medios de comunicación tienen que asumir parte de la responsabilidad en este asunto. No me parece sano jugar con un tema tan importante como es la salud tanto física como mental de las jóvenes. Pareciese que las marcas están dispuestas a hacer cualquier cosa con tal de aumentar sus ventas, sin pensar en las consecuencias.

Este también es un diseño de Marc by Marc Jacobs de la colección Primavera/Verano 2012. Me gustó mucho el contraste de colores pero lo que me pareció más interesante fue la simetría entre el volumen de la parte superior del vestido (hasta la cintura) y el de la parte inferior.

This one is also a design of Marc by Marc Jacobs of the Spring/Summer 2012 collection. I really liked the color contrast but most of all the symmetry between the volume of the upper side of the dress (till the waist) and the one of the lower side.

Al parecer los colores saturados seguirán vigentes para el próximo verano. Así lo demuestra la propuesta de Marc Jacobs para su colección Marc by Marc Jacobs. Yo feliz porque me encantan los colores saturados a pesar de que el naranjo no es uno de mis favoritos.
Estuve leyendo la biografía de este diseñador norteamericano y quedé muy sorprendida porque ha ganado una gran cantidad de premios, entre ellos reiteradamente el del Council of Fashion Designers of America en distintas categorías (accesorios, womenswear, menswear, etc.)

It seems that saturated colors will be still in vogue for next summer. This is demonstrated by the proposal of Marc Jacobs for his Marc by Marc Jacobs collection. Good for me cause I love the saturated colors although orange is not one of my favorites.
I was reading the biography of this american designer and I was very surprised because he has won lots of awards, repeatedly the one of the Council of Fashion Designers of America in different categories (accessories, womenswear, menswear, etc.).

Hace unos días me pidieron que hiciera una ilustración de un par de zapatos para decorar la sesión de fotografía de Suivant. Esta nueva marca de zapatos y accesorios chilena está preparándose para lanzar sus diseños en Noviembre así que apenas tenga más novedades les contaré.
Escogí estos zapatos de Miu Miu porque simplemente ¡me encantaron! La primera vez que vi un modelo parecido fue en el blog The Blonde Salad, y encontré que la manera en que Chiara combinó los zapatos con unos jeans se veía tan chic y casual que quedaron en mi memoria.
Lo que más me gustó de estos zapatos fue los pequeños cristales de distintos tamaños que los decoraban, así que quise enfatizar ese detalle pegándole pequeños strass transparentes.
Cuando esté lista la sesión fotográfica de Suivant compartiré las imágenes donde sale mi ilustración con ustedes.

Few days ago I was asked to make an illustration of a pair of shoes to decorate the photo shoot of Suivant. This new shoes and accessories chilean brand is getting prepared to launch its designs in November so the moment I have more new I will let you know.
I chose these Miu Miu shoes cause I simply loved them! The first time I saw a similar design was in The Blonde Salad blog, and I loved the way Chiara combined these shoes with jeans. It looked so chic and casual that I keept this image in my memory.
What I liked the most of these shoes were the small crystals of different size and shape that decorated them, so I wanted to emphasize this detail by sticking to my drawing small transparent strass.
When Suivant's photo shoot is ready I will share with you the images where my illustrations appears.

Hace poco fue inaugurado el local de Pasteles Antoinette, una hermosa pastelería y Bistró en Guatemala donde venden cupcakes y galletas entre otros. Me habían encargado hacer un afiche de Marie Antoinette sobre un diván rodeada de pasteles y otra serie de cinco ilustraciones pequeñas, todas para decorar este nuevo local. Me enviaron unas fotografías de mis dibujos en la tienda y además pude ver otras en el Facebook de Pasteles Antoinette, así que quería compartirlas con ustedes para que vean lo linda que quedaron mis ilustraciones rodeadas de tan deliciosos cupcakes. La decoración del local quedó realmente preciosa, así que les recomiendo que le echen un vistazo a las fotos de la inauguración en el Facebook de Pasteles Antoinette.

Some weeks ago was inaugurated Pasteles Antoinette, a beautiful Bistró and Coffee Shop in Guatemala were cupcakes and cookies are offered, among others. I was commissioned to make a poster of Marie-Antoinette laying in a divan surrounded by cupcakes, plus five small illustrations, all of them for decorating this new shop. They sent me some pictures of how my drawings looked in this new shop and I could also see more pictures in Pasteles Antoinette's Facebook, so I wanted to share with you the joy of seeing my illustrations surrounded by those delicious cupcakes. ¡Por fin la terminé! Como había estado un poco ocupada esta semana no había tenido tiempo de dedicarme a este cuadro pero por fin encontré ese momento. Además estaba un poco reacia a pintarlo porque estaba costando lograr los colores de la cara, especialmente el rubor de las mejillas. Lo que me gustó especialmente de esta pintura es que a diferencia de las otras que he pintado, esta mujer tenía los ojos azules. Y es como que si sus ojos fuesen tan azules que brillasen y creasen un magnetismo especial. ¿Ustedes qué opinan?

Finally it's finished! Cause I've been a bit busy this week I didn't have time to dedicate myself to this painting but I finally found that moment. I also was a bit reluctant to paint it cause it was getting harder to get the colors of the face, specially the ones of the cheeks. What I specially liked of this portrait is that, unlike the ones I painted before, this women had blue eyes. Is like her eyes where so blue that they shine and create a special magnetism. What you guys think?

Modigliani Nº4

Ya terminé el cuadro Nº4 basado en unas pinturas de Modigliani y estoy trabajando en el Nº5. La mujer del retrato quedo más pequeña en comparación con las anteriores que pinté, por lo que me costó más hacer los detalles del rostro. Creo que el color de fondo le da un ambiente muy pacífico a esta obra, muy relajado, que me gustó mucho.

I finished the fourth painting inspired in some portraits done by Modigliani and I'm currently working in Nº4. The scale of the women in this portrait ended up smaller than the previous paintings I did, so it was harder to make the details of the face. I think that the background color gives a very pacific atmosphere to this work, very relaxed... I like that very much.

For this drawing I get inspired in a character of an internet game which has amazing graphics: DDTank. And for the pattern of the fabric I got the idea of a picture I found in Etsy. Por supuesto Amanda sale hermosísima y aunque no suena tan bien como sus canciones de estudio, se ve linda y angelical en este video, cantando y tocando la guitarra.

Of course Amanda is pretty pretty in this video, and although it doesn't sound as good as her studio songs, she look cute and angelical singing and playing the guitar.

¡Acabo de terminar la tercera pintura de Modigliani! Me gustó mucho pintar con acrílicos, es todo un desafío para mi, ya que estoy acostumbrada a pintar con acuarelas.
Lo que más me costó de esta pintura fue lograr las manchas originales en el fondo y en el pelo. Traté de hacer algo similar, pero no supe como hacer esas manchas como chorreadas. De todos modos creo que se logró la atmósfera del cuadro original.

I just finished my third painting of Modigliani! I'm liking too much painting with acrylics, it's a complete challenge for me as I'm used of painting with watercolors.
The hardest thing to make in this picture were the original stains in the background and hair. I tried to do something similar, but I didn't know how to make those stains. Anyway, I think that the atmosphere of the original painting was obtained.

Este es la segunda reproducción que hago de las pinturas de Modigliani que me encargaron. Como lo encontré parecido al cuadro anterior, decidí hacer un contraste más notorio entre los fondos de ambas pinturas. En esta obra trabajé el fondo con un pincel más grueso, para que se también se diferenciase de las pinceladas pequeñas del cuadro que pinté anteriormente.

Lo que más me gustó fue la manera en que Modigliani mezcló los tonos verdes, celestes, blancos y grises en el fondo del cuadro, y esta fue una de las cosas que más me costó reproducir.

Siento que estoy entendiendo cada vez más la técnica del acrílico, así que espero ir progresando en los próximos cuadros.

This is the second reproduction that I do of the paintings of Modigliani that I was commissioned. As I found it similar to the previous piece that I painted, I decided to do a more striking contrast between the backgrounds of both paintings. In this piece I worked the background with a thicker brush, so that it would also differ from the small brushstrokes of the previous painting.

What I liked the most was the way Modigliani mixed the colors: green, blue, white and gray on the background of the picture, and this was one of the hardest thing to reproduce.

I feel I'm getting more and more the technique of the acrylic, so I hope to keep progressing in the coming paintings.

Modigliani Nº1

Este cuadro forma parte de una serie de reproducciones e interpretaciones que me encargaron de 20 pinturas del artista Amadeo Modigliani. Este cuadro es específicamente de 30 x 30 cm.
Estoy trabajando con acrílico, un material con el cual no había experimentado anteriormente. Lo que me gustó de este es que a diferencia del óleo no tiene un olor tan fuerte, pero lo malo es que se seca muy rápidamente. Aunque en algunas ocasiones me resulta más cómodo que el acrílico se seque más rápido; por ejemplo, puedo parchar rápidamente un error.
Lo que más me gustó de pintar este cuadro fue darme cuenta de la sutileza con que Modigliani iluminó las distintas zonas de la piel, y como unió los distintos tonos de gris, celeste e incluso verde en el fondo del cuadro.
Todavía faltan 19 dibujos por terminar, de distintos formatos (rectangulares y cuadrados) así que estén atentos porque seguiré subiendo más pinturas de Modigliani.

This painting is part of a serie of reproductions and interpretations that I was commissioned of 20 paintings of the artist Amadeo Modigliani. This specific picture is of 30 x 30 cm.
I'm working with acrylic, a material which I hadn't experience before. What I liked about it is that unlike the oil it doesn't smell strong, but the downside is that it dries very quickly. Although sometimes I find it more comfortable that the acrylics dry faster; for example, I can quickly patch an error.
What I liked the most about painting this picture was to realize the subtlety with which Modigliani illuminated the different areas of the skin, and the way he mixed the different shades of gray, blue and green at the background of the picture.
There're still missing 19 more drawings to finish the serie, of different formats (rectangular and square) so stay tuned cause I'll be soon uploading more paintings of Modigliani.

Me encantó su cara de muñeca desde que vi "Cartas a Julieta" y definitivamente quise dibujarla cuando vi la sesión de fotografía que Vogue Italia le hizo el 2008 inspirada en Alicia en el País de las Maravillas. Me encantan sus ojos gigantes y su largo pelo rubio.

My new obsession: Amanda Seyfried. I loved her doll face since I saw "Letters to Juliet" and definitely wanted to draw her when I saw the Vogue Italia 2008 photo shoot inspired in Alice in Wonderland. I love her giant eyes and her long blond hair.

Esta fue mi propuesta para el concurso "Portadas Aniversario" de la revista Paula, con motivo de la celebración de sus 44 años. Quise ilustrar algo que tuviese que ver con la moda chilena, por lo que escogí como modelo a Camila Arriagada, modelo de elite Chile, a quien vestí con un diseño de Marco Correa. El logo de la revista lo re dibujé con un lápiz a tinta y le cambié el color a fucsia en Photoshop.

This was my entrie for the contest "Front Page Anniversary" of Paula magazine, for the celebration of its 44 years. I wanted to illustrate something related to Chilean fashion, so I chosed as my model Camila Arriagada, a model of Elite Chile, who I dressed up with a Marco Correa garment. I drew the logo of the magazine with an ink pencil and then changed the color in Photoshop.

Este vestido es de la última colección Haute Couture de Giambattista Valli. Tenía ganas de ilustrarlo porque me gustó mucho la textura de la tela, como las fibras plateadas se entrelazaban sutilmente con las negras. Para pintarlas usé acuarela, tinta china y una témpera metalizada que me encanta porque da un efecto como de olio, de volumen.

This dress is from the last Haute Couture collection by Giambattista Valli. I wanted to illustrate it because I liked the texture of the fabric, the way the silver fibers subtly intertwined with the black ones. I used watercolors, India ink and a metallic gouache that I love because it gives an olio effect, gives volume.

Realicé este retrato de la modelo Freja Beha Erichsen a petición de una seguidora mia en Facebook, Tara Agrela. Fue ella quien me hizo notar que esta modelo salía en tantos desfiles pero yo nunca le había puesto mayor atención.

Yo creo que son los rasgos tan marcados los que hacen que el rosto de Freja sea tan reconocible y característico, por eso, aunque le cambien el peinado y el maquillaje, sigue siendo ella. Lo que más me gusta es la forma de su boca.

I made this portrait of the model Freja Beha Erichsen at the request of one of my Facebook's fan, Tara Agrela. It was her who made me notice that this model appeared in so many fashion shows but I never put too much attention to her.

I think that the marked features are the ones that make the face of Freja so recognizable and distinctive, so that even if you change her hair style and makeup she still remains herself. I specially like the shape of her mouth.

I loved the latest Resort collection of Miu Miu, especially the use of pastel-colored jewelry, which gave the outfits a romantic-vintage look. They reminded me of the toy jewelry that I wore when I was a child.

Debido a que retraté al vampiro (Robert Pattinson), me dijeron por ahí que dibujara también al lobo.
En mi opinión la manera en que Jacob Black es interpretado por Taylor Lautner en la saga Crepúsculo es muy distinta a como yo me lo imaginaba al leer los libros. Creo que en las películas exhiben demasiado sus músculos (que no dejan de ser impresionantes), olvidando el lado más sensible y generoso de Jacob. Me quedo con el libro.

Cause I portrayed the vampire (Robert Pattinson), someone told me that I should also draw the wolf.
In my opinion the way that Jacob Black is played by Taylor Lautner on the Twilight saga is very different to how I imagined him while reading the books. I think that the movies exhibit too much Taylor's muscles (impressive in any case), forgetting the sensitive and generous side of Jacob. I choose the book.

Me gustó mucho el color, los pliegues del vestido y el peinado que le hicieron a las modelos para la la promoción de la colección.

I came to know this design of J. Mendel cause the famous Kirsten Stewart wore it for the Paris press conference and photocall for The Twilight Saga New Moon on November 11, 2009. I liked the color, the pleats of the dress and the hair style of the models for the promotion of the collection.

El milagro del olvido

Esta canción está dedicada a La Monine, una de mis cantates favoritas, e inspirada en su canción "Luna Temprana". Lo que a mi encanta de su música y de sus letras es lo sutil y delicadas que son las melodías, y como estas se combinan dulcemente con las palabras, envolviéndote en un aura de nostalgia.
Me sorprendí mucho al terminar mi ilustración y ver al igual que la página web de la Monine estaban ambas están trabajadas con color lila. Yo no sé si será coincidencia, o si yo y La Monine veremos su música del mismo color, o si yo en mi subconsciente recordaba este color de la página web y lo asociaba a su música, pero no lo recordaba.

This song is dedicated to La Monine, one of my favorite singers, and inspired her song "Early Moon" (Luna Temprana). What I love about her music and lyrics is how subtle and delicate are the melodies and how the words softly combine with them, enveloping you in an aura of nostalgia. I was surprised after finishing my illustration and noticing that just like in La Monine's website the main color was lilac. Revisando las últimas colecciones de moda, me encontré con un diseñador nuevo para mi, llamado Zuhair Murad. Como me gustó mucho la colección Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2011-2012, decidí investigar un poco sobre él en su página web, y ahora comparto esa información con ustedes.
Este diseñador libanés abrió su primera tienda en Beirut en 1995, pero se hizo conocido en el ámbito de la moda internacional al presentar exitosamente sus diseños en Alta Roma Fashion Week en 1999. Luego en el 2001 se presentaría en París en Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week y nuevamente en Italia en el 2002, en Milano Donna Fashion Week. Además colaboró con Mango por cuatro años a partir del 2006, y celebridades como Jennifer Lopez y Kathy Perry han usado sus diseños para grandes eventos.
En verdad su última colección Haute Couture es muy hermosa, como de mujeres chinas de la alta sociedad. Lo que más me gustó fue el uso de encajes, que me imagino que estarán bordados a mano, que van como enredaderas enroscándose sutilmente por la silueta. ¡Recomendado!

Cheking out the latest fashion collections, I came to know a new designer, named Zuhair Murad. Cause I liked the Haute Couture Fall / Winter 2011-2012 collection, I decided to do some research about him on his website, so now I will share that information with you.
This lebanese designer opened his first store in Beirut in 1995, but he became known in the field of international fashion at the presentation of his designs in Alta Roma Fashion Week in 1999. Then in 2001, he attended to Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week and again in Italy in 2002, for Donna Milano Fashion Week. He also worked with Mango for four years starting in 2006, and celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Kathy Perry have worn his designs for important events.

He aquí un retrato de Robert Pattinson, el vampiro teenager más top de los últimos tiempos (aunque las fanáticas de True Blood podrían discutírmelo). La verdad es que nunca encontré tan guapo como todas dicen a Pattinson, pero observando unas fotografías suyas en internet me pareció un rostro muy atractivo para retratar por lo marcado de sus rasgos faciales. Admito que no me quedó tan parecido, por lo que seguiré practicando, pero de todos modos me gustó el resultado de esta ilustración.

Here is a portrait of Robert Pattinson, the hottest teenager vampire nowadays (although fans of True Blood may not agree). The truth is I never found Pattinson as handsome as everyone says, but while watching some pictures of him I found that he had a very attractive face to portray cause of his strong facial features. I admit that in my illustration he doesn't look so much like the model, so I will continue practicing, but still I liked the result of it.

Estas ilustraciones están basadas en un vestido de Giambattista Valli de la colección Haute Couture, Fall/Winter 2011-2012. Me gustó mucho la colección de este diseñador italiano al cual no conocía previamente, sobretodo el uso de volúmenes creados a partir de pequeñísimos pliegues y de pequeños trozos de tela que creaban sofisticadas texturas.

Decidí dibujar este vestido porque me encantó el color, la manera en que contrastaban los pliegues de la parte superior del traje con el volúmen de la parte inferior y la forma en que los delgados pliegues se adherían a la silueta, dibujando el contorno del busto.

These illustrations are based on a dress by Giambattista Valli of the Haute Couture, Fall/Winter 2011-2012 collection . I loved the collection of this Italian designer which I didn't know previously, especially the use of volumes created from tiny pleats and small pieces of fabric that created sophisticated textures.

I decided to draw this dress because I loved the color, the way the pleats of the upper part of the outfit contrasted with the volume of the lower part, and the way these thin pleats adhered to the silhouette, drawing the outline of the chest.

Este personaje es Mana, el guitarrista y compositor (sí, es hombre) de la famosa banda japonesa Malice Mizer, y luego fundador de Moi-dix-Moi, y una de mis musas inspiradoras en los tiempos en que iba al colegio. En ambas bandas la imagen siempre fue un factor de identidad importante, por lo que cada integrante tenía una personalidad específica y un estilo que lo identificaba. Mana era muy femenino, delicado y elegante y su color representativo era el azul. Yo le diseñé este traje gótico de color blanco con accesorios en azul que combinaban con los rizos azules.

This character is Mana, guitarist and composer (yes, a man) of the famous japanese band Malice Mizer, and then founder of Moi-dix-Moi, and one of my muses in the times i went to school. In both bands the image was an important factor of identity, so each member had a specific personality and a style that identified him. Mana was very feminine, delicate and elegant and its representative color was blue. I designed this gothic costume in white with blue accessories that combined with the blue curls of the hair.

En este curso fue la primera vez que experimenté con la acuarela para lograr manchas y texturas, jugar con la humedad del papel, observar como se mezclaban los distintos colores, etc. Fue un gran curso, aprendí mucho con la profesora Alejandra Bendel.

I made these self-portraits in 2005 for a course in University called Watercolor. In this course it was the first time I experimented with watercolor to get stains and textures, play with the moisture in the paper, observe how different colors mix, etc. It was a great course, I learned a lot with Professor Alejandra Bendel.

Originalmente hice este diseño para pintarlo con acuarela, pero como no me gustó el resultado quise probar con una técnica digital (por suerte había digitalizado el dibujo antes de pintarlo con acuarela). Como el vestido era de lana, le agregué unas texturas que simulaban textiles en Photoshop.

Originally I made this illustration to color it with watercolors, but cause I didn't like the result I wanted to try a digital technique (luckily I scanned the drawing before painting it with watercolors). As the dress was made of wool, I added some textures in Photoshop that simulate textiles.

Cuando llegaron a mis manos unos rotuladores, lo primero que pensé en dibujar fue a Marie~Antoinette. Me gustó pintar con ellos, pero creo que sigo prefiriendo la acuarela, porque no sabía como mezclar los colores con los rotuladores, lograr degradaciones de tonos, etc. Pero lo bueno que tenían era que los colores quedaban súper nítidos.

When some markers came into my hands, the first thing I thought of drawing was Marie~Antoinette. I enjoyed painting with them, but I think I still prefer the watercolor because I didn't know how to mix colors with the markers, to achieve color gradients, and so on. But the nice thing about them was that the colors were very clear.

Este bikini forma parte de la colección Baby Angel, diseñada especialmente por Elio Fiorucci para OVS. Me gustó mucho la propuesta del diseñador en general: vestidos floreados muy dulces (que me recuerdan al traje típico de la huasa china chilena), encajes, mucho rosado, celeste y blanco... muy angelical. Este bikini en específico lo encontré muy entretenido, porque la parte superior estaba decorada por pequeñas tiras de lycra de distintos colores... algo sencillo y original.

Para seguir la tendencia dulce en este look, quise agregarle estos zapatos con una hermosa cinta en el tobillo de Moschino Cheap and Chic.

This bikini belongs to the Baby Angel collection, designed by Elio Fiorucci for OVS. In general, I liked the proposal of the designer: sweet floral dresses (that reminds me the traditional "chilean chinese" clothing), lace, a lot of pink, light blue and white ... very angelical. This bikini I found it very chic, because the top was decorated with small strip of colored lycra ... something simple and original.

In the same line of this sweet look, I wanted to add Moschino Cheap and Chic shoes, which had a beautiful ribbon in the ankle.

Después de ver la película Black Swan y la última colección de Alexander McQueen, no pude evitar observar la evidente relación que había entre ambos elementos, lo que me llamó mucho la atención y me motivó a realizar una ilustración que combinara el carácter de la protagonista de la película y el maravilloso vestuario diseñado por Sarah Burton. Quise combinar el dramático y opresor mundo en el que vivía Nina (la protagonista de la película) con el vestuario de McQueen, que representa la transición de cisne blanco a negro, de humana a pájaro.

After watching the film Black Swan and the latest collection of Alexander McQueen, I couldn't help noticing the evident link between both elements, which caught my attention and motivated me to create an illustration that combined the personality of the protagonist of the film and the wonderful collection designed by Sarah Burton. I wanted to blend the dramatic and oppressive world in which Nina lived (the protagonist of the film) with the designs of McQueen, which represents the transition from white to the black swan, from a human being to a bird.

Como el nombre de la colección lo indica, me inspiré en la tribu urbana de los New Age Travellers, quienes tienen creencias del movimiento New Age, y viajan por Inglaterra a festivales de música y viven en comunidad, entre otras actividades. Principalmente yo me enfoqué en los jóvenes de este movimiento que surgieron durante los años '80, rescatando conceptos como lo etéreo, nómade, naturaleza, inspirándome principalmente en el look gitano y la colección "buffalo" (1982) de Vivienne Westwood. Las ilustraciones las hice en lápiz pasta y acuarela opaca y dorada, sobre un papel amarillento llamado "carta da spolvero".

This are some of the designs of the fashion collection "New Age Travellers", that I created for the course Laboratorio di Moda during an exchange program in Politecnico di Milano. As the name of the collection suggests, it was inspired by the urban tribe New Age Travellers, who share beliefs of the New Age movement, and travel around England attending to music festivals, living in community, among other activities. I focused primarly in the young people of this movement that emerged during the '80s, capturing concepts like ethereal, nomadic, nature, inspired mainly by the gypsy look and the fashion collection "buffalo" (1982) by Vivienne Westwood. I made the illustrations with pencil, opaque and golden watercolor on a yellow paper called "carta da spolvero".

El nombre de esta ilustración tiene origen en dos palabras japonesas: "sakura", que significa flor de cerezo, y "neko", que significa gato. El dibujo del gato con el libro sobre la cabeza lo hice originalmente para el concurso "Estámpate la bolsa" (Biblioteca Viva), y decidí combinarlo con unas flores de cerezo y un fondo celeste vibrante para darle un aspecto romántico pero moderno a la vez, donde la figura en negro contrastase con el fondo.

The name of this illustration has origin in two japanese words: "sakura", that means cherry blossom, and "neko", that means cat. I originally made the drawing of the cat with the book over the head for the contest "Estámpate la bolsa" (Biblioteca Viva), and I decided to combine it with some cherry blossom and a vibrating light blue background to give a romantic but modern aspect at the same time, where the figure in black contrasts with the background color.

Estas son unas ilustraciones que realicé en la universidad para el ramo "Acuarela" el año 2005, donde debíamos retratar a una modelo desnuda en no más de 10 minutos. Trabajé sobre papel camisa, y para darle un toque personal decidí utilizar gamas de colores que me gustan mucho, que son las de tonos rosas y azules. Dibujé con lápiz de color el contorno de la silueta, y luego utilicé la acuarela para dar las luces y sombras en el cuerpo de la modelo.
Si bien son unos trabajos relativamente antiguos, quise compartirlos con ustedes ya que me agrada mucho el resultado que logré con la acuarela, dándole volumen a un dibujo lineal.

I made these illustrations for a course in my university, called "Watercolor" in 2005, where we had to draw a nude model in no more than 10 minutes. I worked in "camisa" paper, and to give a special touch to my work I decided to use color combinations that I like a lot, that are the pink and blue.
I drew the shape of the body with color pencil, and then I used the watercolor to give the lights and shadows in the body of the model.
Although these works are a bit old, I wanted to share them with you because I like the result that I got with the watercolor, specially the way I gave volume to a lineal drawing.
